Annotation : As with many of Saygun’s compositions, Sezisler Intuitions weaves its melodies in the style of Turkish music. Both clarinet parts move freely, with no indication of meter. The composer organizes the lines on the score so that they may play more exposed passages when the other play has a sustain note. This practice isn’t always followed, however. There are passages in which both players are playing soloistic lines and lining up these melodies becomes challenging. The range of the work extends to F4 , but the technical and musical demands of the work present more of a challenge.
