Annotation: This work by Patrick Hiketick though not immensely difficult, has elements within that will challenge players. The bass clarinet part extends to low d, which in most cases will require an instrument that extends to low c (professional level horn). Additionally, the bass clarinet part is written in bass clef, a tradition that is not frequently seen in the literature, particularly in works for younger students. The melodic and harmonic content of this piece are based on idiomatic klezmer style. The are klezmer-like ornaments written in, but this work could be used as an opportunity to teach those elements that are not specifically notated.
