Annotation : This work is a relatively short duo based on Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro. It challenges both players through leaps, tempo changes, and frequent transitions. There are also passages that test the intonation skills of both players, often requiring them to play at soft dynamics in octaves. The humorous nature of the work will not be lost on those familiar with the opera as the themes are passed about and juxtaposed on top of one another.
