Annotation: A student of Haydn, Fuchs composed these six trios in the late eighteenth century. The clarinet trio became a popular ensemble during this period, and many composers wrote works for students of the clarinet in this ensemble format. The difficulty of these trios are comparable to the similar works by Bouffil and Mozart. The range remains below C 6 save for a few notes in the first clarinet parts (occasionally moving to F 6 ). Overall, these works are ideal for intermediate ensembles, and though less popular than the Mozart and Bouffil trios, they are great works within the repertoire.
