Annotation : This work, though not technically challenging, requires immense control for both Eb and Bb clarinets. The tempo is quite slow and the dynamics rarely move beyond p . This work requires the players to be able to play a soft sustained melody without altering the pitch, which is added to the difficult in blending the different tone qualities of the Eb and Bb clarinets. This work is a composer created arrangement of this movement from his work 7 Songs Heard in China, which was composed for cello.
