-Clarinet Rhapsody by David Bennett+**Work** : Clarinet Rhapsody
 +----
 +**Composer** : David Bennett
 +----
 +**Difficulty Ranking** : [[iii|III]]
 +----
 +**Publisher** : Carl Fischer
 +----
 +**Year Published** : 1937
 +----
 +**Instrumentation** : 2 Bb Clarinets, 1 Alto Clarinet, and 1 Bass Clarinet
 +----
+**Potential Pedagogical Applications** : Articulation matching, intonation (octave, unison, and
+chordal), ensemble mechanics (frequent tempo transitions and fermati), phrase matching, solo
 +passages, auxiliary instruments
 +----
 +**Sample Recording** : [[https://youtu.be/QlVgUy4-Bm0]]
 +----
 +**Where to Purchase Sheet Music** : [[http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/clarinet-rhapsody-sheet-music/4417186]]
 +----
+**Annotation** : This work is written for mixed clarinet quartet, including alto clarinet. Though the
+instrument has fallen out of favor in composition, there are works in the band and clarinet choir
+repertoire that require students be able to play the instrument. As such, this work can serve as an
+additional place to practice tone development and learn the tendencies of the instrument. Written
+similar to any other rhapsody, the work features frequent virtuosic passages in the first clarinet
+part. The range extends to G 4 , but only in the first clarinet part.
