Annotation : This award winning work (2005 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer’s Competition) is described by the composer as depicting both the immense energy of a solar flare and the talent or “flair” of the talent clarinetists performing. The work features an expansive range to Bb 4 as well as brisk articulated passages in all registers. The parts are highly independent of one another in many places, but unified in others, requiring exact articulation and finger precision. This work is intended for professional level musicians.
