Annotation : The original version of this duo was for two basset horns, as indicated by the title. As such, there are passages in which the original range extended beyond the capacity of the Bb clarinet. These passages are present in the score, but the editors have added an ossia part that is within the range of the Bb clarinet. This duo is very similar to other works from this time in style and melodic content. The editor took the liberty of adding suggested articulation markings that were not present in the original as well.
