Annotation : This work by Clare Grundman is a nice introductory piece for clarinet ensemble playing. The parts are almost always grouped in pairs, allowing players to feel more freedom in the writing without being completely alone. The articulations are abundant and often used to displace the beat. The range is compact, never entering the altissimo, allowing the players to focus on blend and tone quality in the lower registers.
