Annotation : Though 5 Huapangos is a grade III work, it is highly accessible. The work is one of the few for clarinet and bass clarinet with a range this compact (it has only one note above C4, a G4 on the very last note, which can easily be taken down an octave by the student). The tempo markings indicate that the work should be played in one, but again, this can be adjusted for the students’ levels. Each movement is separated by a solo bass clarinet interlude before moving on to the next movement attaca.
