Annotation : Yellow Jersey is a musical depiction of the sprint of the Tour de France. Though the nine minute work is not separated into movements, there are nine clear sections in which Larsen is creating images of what the different stages of the race might be like. The writing is challenging for both players, requiring technical facility, a fast tongue, and good ensemble mechanics. The work challenges the players through the passage work and ensemble playing, but does not utilize any extended techniques.
