Annotation : Another well-known clarinetist composer, Robert Stark composed many works for clarinet, including a widely used method. This sonata for two clarinets is one of several works for clarinet ensemble written by Stark. Written in four movements, the writing challenges both parts equally. Though the range extends to G4, it does not stay in the altissimo for much time overall. The fast articulated notes, a concept Stark wrote to address in his method book, Arpeggio and Staccato Studies, are one of the most frequently appearing and most challenging aspects of this duo.
