The inspiration for the work lies in the Klezmer style of clarinet playing. Kibbe utilizes traditional dances forms common to klezmer music such as doina, hora, and frehlakhs, but composes his own unique melodies. The use of Eb and Bass clarinets in addition to the Bb adds a distinct color, but adds challenges to intonation and blend. ---- {{:kibbe_shtetl_tanzen.png?nolink|}}
